Saper Law retained by the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council to review its Social Media Policies

By Saper Law | June 14, 2009

The Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council  is a membership and service association comprising more than 140 hospitals and health care organizations working together, since 1935, to improve the delivery of health care services in the Chicago area.   The Council’s Institutional members consist of hospitals (and their integrated delivery systems) in the eight-county Chicago area. Associate members include hospitals outside these counties, as well as physician groups, nursing homes, outpatient treatment centers, insurers, medical schools and other health care organizations.

On Wednesday, June 17, MCHC is organizing a full day seminar to educate its member hospitals about the benefits and pitfalls of using Social Media.  The Seminar is titled: Social Media 101: Is your Hospital equipped to join the Buzz?

The morning session will feature Charles Falls, President of DC Interactive.  During lunch, three members of MCHC’s Subcommitte on Social Media, along with Daliah Saper, a legal expert on Social Media and Intellectual Property, will present on the process of setting up or enhancing current HR and business ethics protocols to include Social Computing.  After lunch, Chris Martin, President of Chris Martin Public Relations will moderate a User Panel that will include premiere hospital blogger Lee Asae from the Mayo Clinic, Tony Chen, founder of www.HospitalImpact.com, and Daliah Saper of Saper Law Offices, LLC.
