Daliah Saper lectures at the American Bar Association’s Annual Meeting: “SEX, SLANDER and CYBERSPACE: Legal Issues raised by the Dark Side of Web 2.0″

By Saper Law | August 2, 2009

On Saturday, August 1, 2009, Daliah Saper gave the following presentation to members of the American Bar Association Intellectual Property Law Committee.

Title: SEX, SLANDER and CYBERSPACE: Legal Issues raised by the Dark Side of Web 2.0

Description: Experienced cyberlawyers Daliah Saper and Evan Brown will present on the issues raised by social media and other Web 2.0 applications. Web 2.0 is the term given to a group of technologies [blogs, MySpace, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Second Life, etc.] that enable users to communicate with both the site operator and one another. While these technologies enable the web to reach its promise as a one-to-many communication medium, they also have significant capacities for abuse, including online defamation, intellectual property theft, invasion of privacy, impersonation and identity theft. This presentation will address the laws governing these technologies and current unsettled issues in this area of the law.
