Announcing a very special documentary film screening at Saper Law

The Entertainment and Media Law Practice at Saper Law is honored to invite you and your friends to attend an intimate screening of “22 Years From Home” at Saper Law Offices on Wednesday night, October 21.  The film’s director, and Saper Law client, Malachi Leopold, will be in attendance for a Q & A following the screening. Malachi spent over a month in Sudan and Kenya to make this film.  The project was underwritten in part by USA for UNHCR.

About the film: In 1983, after an 11 year hiatus, civil war reignited between northern and southern Sudan. 2 million southern Sudanese were killed. 27,000 children reached refugee camps in Ethiopia. They are the Lost Boys of Sudan. Driven from Ethiopia by rebel forces in 1991, the children fled to Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya. During their one year march to Kenya, they faced starvation, military assaults, animal attacks, and disease. Fewer than 16,000 survived. This is the story of 1 boy. Kuek Aleu Garang.

The film runs 36 minutes. There is no cost to attend this event but seating is limited and online registration is mandatory.
