Saper Law Offices files motion for summary judgment in RIAA case.

Several recording companies filed a copyright infringement lawsuit (Elektra Entertainment Inc. et al., v. Paule Wilke) against our client, Paul Wilke. Saper Law Offices filed a motion for summary judgment stating that Mr. Wilke has not downloaded any of the infringing songs or used any P2P software such as Kazaa.

The Recording Industry vs the People blog has covered our attempts to get Mr. Wilke dismissed from this lawsuit.

July 14, 2006

Saper Law Offices prevails on motion to dismiss.

In the case Ganjavi v. Smith, et. al, the plaintiff sued several individuals, including our client, for defamation and other related causes of action relating to messages posted on an Internet newsgroup. The case was brought in federal court in the Central District of California. Saper Law Offices filed a motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction on behalf of our client. On July 14, 2006, Judge Pregerson of the Central District of California granted our motion and dismissed our client from the case.
