Chicago Changes the Rules for Small Businesses
Chicago business ordinances are numerous and can be hard to keep track of. Even the most careful small businesses receive citations from time to time—just look at the recent string of citations issued to Wicker Park businesses for window signs.
The Chicago Department of Administrative Hearings now requires that an attorney must represent all business corporations at administrative proceedings, including ordinance citation hearings. Due to a recent court case, the city has started enforcing this rule for the first time—meaning if you receive an ordinance violation citation, you need a lawyer!
Saper Law is here to help. We deal with a wide variety of ordinance violations and have represented many new or small businesses that are unaccustomed to legal proceedings. Our veteran attorneys will walk you through the process and help you present your case in the best way possible.
