September Client Spotlight: Big Appetites Studio
Saper Law’s Client Spotlight is a series highlighting our clients and the legal work we do across our various practice areas. This month, we are highlighting our intellectual property and business law services by shining a spotlight on Saper Law client, Christopher Boffoli, creator of Big Appetites Studio.
Meet Christopher Boffoli
Christopher Boffoli is a fine art, commercial, and editorial photographer known for his Big Appetites series, which places tiny figures into elaborate landscapes made from real food. The result is a playful and surreal world that transforms familiar foods and everyday scenes into imaginative, larger-than-life landscapes.
Boffoli began developing the Big Appetites series around 2003. His fascination with miniature worlds dates back to childhood, when he collected Matchbox cars, built models, and became fascinated by tiny, meticulously detailed objects. Food became the perfect backdrop for his miniature scenes because of its texture, color, accessibility, and universal connection to everyday life.

His photographs have attracted an international audience. Big Appetites has been published in print and online in more than 100 countries, and Boffoli’s work has been featured by major media outlets around the world. A 2012 feature on his work even made him a finalist for a James Beard Foundation Award for Humor.
Beyond his fine art photography, Boffoli has worked commercially and editorially for brands and publications, while his fine art photographs are represented by galleries in the United States, Canada, and internationally. His work is also available as limited-edition fine art prints, notecards, and the Big Appetites book.
