Hunter Killer Productions, Inc. is a production company that produced the 2018 movie Hunter Killer, starring Gerard Butler and Common. Hunter Killer Productions has filed lawsuits against individuals that, it alleges, illegally downloaded, acquired, or otherwise shared digital copies of the film using file sharing systems such as BitTorrent. Supreme Court: Copyright Owners Must Receive Registration Certificate Prior to Filing Suit
The Supreme Court ruled on March 4, 2019 that a copyright owner must obtain a registration certificate from the Copyright Office prior to filing an infringement lawsuit. The unanimous decision in Fourth Estate Public Benefit Corp. v. Wall-Street.Com, LLC was authored by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The North American Entertainment Law Summit delivers a four day continuing legal education conference, focused on constantly evolving topics within the entertainment, sports, media, and intellectual property law fields.
