Saper Law Attorneys Speak About Legal Issues Regarding Domain Names at the Chicago Bar Association
Last week, Saper Law Attorneys lectured to the Chicago Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Law Committee about the legal issues surrounding domain names.
The presentation titled Domain Names 101 provided an explanation of the acronyms used by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), key contractual terms in domain name purchase and escrow agreements, an overview of the Anti Cybersquatting Act, case examples of domain name related cases that Saper Law has handled in both state courts as well as via UDRP proceedings, and finally, an explanation of the new generic top level domain names that are being issued.
Saper Law Attorneys also related information that they learned from their trip to Argentina to attend the international ICANN conference and from speaking at NamesCon.com.
