Meet Canetoonist
Canetoonist, as his name implies, is a herpetologist…
no, scratch that, he’s a cartoonist.
He posted his work on Reddit, and Reddit took notice. An admin reached out to him, asking if he’d like to be a part of their new Collectible Avatar Program.
Canetoonist VERY calmly accepted…
…And with guidance from Saper Law, signed the prerequisite contracts, and got to work designing.
(Mash)Up, Up, and Away
Launched in July 2022 with a small cohort of 29 independent artists, the program has since grown to include over a hundred artists, each creating their own unique avatars. The Avatars themselves are built to be modular, and there are now subreddits with tens of thousands of Redditors “mashing” their Avatars together in creative ways.
Canetoonist’s Avatars often reference pop culture, with pieces dedicated to comics history, animation eras, comedy, and video games.
