Meet March Fourth

For July’s Client Spotlight, we decided to showcase Saper Law Client, March Fourth, a nonpartisan, nonprofit advocacy group with a singular mission: to reinstate a federal ban on assault weapons.

March Fourth was founded by Kitty Brandtner, a parent and sales executive, following the devastating mass shooting in Highland Park, IL that took place on July 4th, 2022 (Highland Park, IL is a suburb of Chicago).

Kitty Brandtner was desperate to do something to end the reality of mass shootings. Within days after the Highland Park tragedy, a team of dedicated and passionate volunteers joined forces to create the organization and plan a peaceful march in Washington, D.C.

Over 500 volunteers, survivors, and victims’ families marched, and attended meetings with members of Congress and the White House to share their personal stories and urge lawmakers to listen to the majority of Americans who want a ban on assault weapons.

In the 2 years since forming…

March Fourth continues to consistently meet with members of Congress to reinstate a federal assault weapons ban. They have attended 400 advocacy meetings on the Hill and championed new legislation.

March Fourth unites and activates Americans around this issue, focusing on finding common ground, and raising awareness for this issue. They encourage supporters to use their voices and participate in advocating for a safer future. This grassroots organization has grown a community of 66K+ online supporters.
