Meet Ewert Photo

Ewert Photo, founded by Steven Ewert, is an advertising photography business that specializes in professional headshots, event photography, corporate meetings, office photography, studio portraits, family portraits, and photo booth experiences. Whether photographing a Fortune 500 executive, a company-wide meeting, or a family milestone, Steve focuses on creating images that reflect genuine personality, professionalism, and connection.

Steve’s path to photography has been anything but ordinary. After graduating from college, he embarked on a photojournalism journey through Europe and Africa, traveling alongside a writer producing magazine articles. During that adventure, Steve and his travel partner famously hitchhiked across the Sahara Desert—a remarkable experience later chronicled in the documentary Hitchhiking to the Edge of Sanity.

When he returned home, Steve settled in Chicago and founded Ewert Photo. Over the next twenty years, he built a successful advertising photography business, working with leading organizations including McDonald’s, Quaker Oats, WittKieffer, Huron Consulting Group, the Illinois Venture Capital Association, and Seyfarth Shaw. Along the way, he photographed notable figures such as Michael Jordan, Cal Ripken Jr., Chris Evert, and JB Pritzker.

What sets Ewert Photo apart is Steve’s commitment to making every photography session enjoyable and comfortable. He believes that great photographs happen when people feel at ease, and he works to create an experience that is as positive as the final image itself. At events, he is always looking for the moments that capture the energy, enthusiasm, and spirit of the occasion.

In a fitting example of the relationships Steve has built throughout his career, he and Daliah Saper are actually clients of one another! Steve photographed Daliah’s professional headshot more than a decade ago and recently captured an updated portrait.  It’s a full-circle partnership that reflects the value both businesses place on investing in their brands and protecting the work they create.
