On March 6th, Daliah Saper joined DePaul University’s Comm & Tech Talk Event as a guest speaker, addressing the legal challenges surrounding revenge porn and emerging Internet law issues. Daliah shared her experience litigating complex digital privacy, defamation, and online harassment cases. The USPTO fees increase January 18, 2025. Here's what you need to know. The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has announced significant changes to trademark applications effective January 18, 2025. These changes include increased filing fees and the elimination of the TEAS Plus application, which was designed to incentivize and streamline straightforward trademark applications. Moving forward, there will be only one form to complete when submitting a trademark application, rather than choosing between the TEAS Plus and TEAS Standard applications. Nationwide Injunction on Corporate Transparency Act Issued by Texas Court  On October 22nd, we notified you about your obligations under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) and its upcoming compliance requirements. If you are unfamiliar, the CTA requires certain U.S. businesses to report information about their beneficial owners to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) to combat money laundering, fraud, and other illicit activities. On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas issued a nationwide injunction temporarily halting enforcement of the CTA.
